What’s Warming the World?

NASA’s Model
Researchers who study the Earth’s climate create models to test their assumptions about the causes and trajectory of global warming. Around the world there are 28 or so research groups in more than a dozen countries who have written 61 climate models. Each takes a slightly different approach to the elements of the climate system, such as ice, oceans, or atmospheric

Soil Organic Carbon report from UN FAO

http://www.fao.org/3/a-i6937e.pdf

“A study performed by K. E. Clemmensen et al. explains that, as far as adding carbon to soil, plant material might not even be the half of it, literally…Using 14C bomb-carbon modeling, we show that 50 to 70% of stored carbon in a chronosequence of boreal forested islands derives from roots and root-associated microorganisms…454 pyrosequencing of molecular barcodes, in conjunction with stable isotope analyses, highlights root-associated fungi as important regulators of ecosystem carbon dynamics.”
